Miami Ad School
Miami Ad School

Wynwood Art District, Miami | 2015

This dynamic new headquarters campus for a professional school is sited in the heart of a busy arts district.

Founded in 1993, Miami Ad School has 14 branches in 9 countries. The school wanted to move its international headquarters from Miami Beach to the burgeoning Wynwood neighborhood of Miami. The site they chose comprised several unremarkable warehouse structures on a disused grassy lot.  The architect transformed the site, designing an integrated campus through reimagining the existing structures and augmenting them with a new mezzanine and a new bridge and elevator tower to improve campus circulation. Outdoor zones were created for study, play and contemplation.

Collaboration with a dozen internationally-famous street artists to paint the buildings’ bright pink facades and selected interiors created a riot of color inside and out. The new campus is a nearly edible piece of art in a neighborhood already bursting at the seams with eye candy.
